Sciva and Jagli

Sciva and Jagli is participatory theatre programme for middle school students around the themes of nation, patriotism and culturally created divisions. It tells the story of two ‘blood sisters’ who get separated because a line is drawn through their country. Students get to meet characters from both the countries as well as the two friends. Biddy Coghill, who was Maya’s colleague in the Leeds Playhouse T.I.E. Company, Leeds, U.K., came to India specially to make and tour this programme. A film on the devising process was also made.
