Departures

The word, Departure, conjures up multiple images - of leaving a world behind, of packing, of impending arrival, mixed feelings, of the traveller herself who is already changed because she is crossing ‘worlds’. There is another way in which we use the word departures - of making big shifts in thinking, habit, lifestyle, work. Often we make these departures without realizing we are transforming. The artists who came together to make this show explored the term through images, moments in history, sound, and object. This show was commissioned by LIFT - London International Festival of Theatre.
